  • If tires are dryrotted but keeping pressure, is it safe to drive long distances?

My boyfriend’s Jeep has dryrotted tires on it. From what a friend of mine told me. But, the tires are keeping the tire pressure. Would it be safe to travel long distances with the tires the way they are?

NO NO NO! Tires heat up as they run, as much as 80 degrees. A truck tire cant be retreaded after it is 5 years old, that is the reason. Even a tire 5 years old with 100% tread risks failure. Front tire blowouts can be deadly! A tire is one of the most important items on a vehicle, never take a chance. I is other’s life and property at risk as well as yours!
      Drive safely!
